To experience works of art that are otherwise inaccessible—the initiative Kunst privat!
(Art in Private) makes it possible. For the past eight years, Hessian
companies have been presenting their collections to the public for this
event. And Deutsche Bank has also been a part of it: this June 2nd and
3rd, the bank invites visitors into their Frankfurt Group Head Office,
where around 100 works of art from over 40 countries can be seen.
Encompassing photographs from India, Brazil, and South Africa to
conceptual works from East Europe, the current art installment in the
Deutsche Bank Towers offers a concise overview of today’s international
art scene.
Among the approximately 35 participants in Kunst privat! are large concerns such as the Deutsche Börse, which boasts a renowned photography collection, and Lufthansa, which shows site-specific installations by artists such as Liam Gillick and Elmgreen and Dragset
in their administration building at Frankfurt Airport. Viessmann in
Allendorf, one of the world’s leading manufacturers in heating
technology, features a surprising display of heating units designed by Karl Duschek, Heinz Mack, Otto Piene, and Günther Uecker. But a number of smaller firms also take part in the event: in the rooms of Etage3 Kommunikation + Design, young art from Germany and street art is on view, while the attorneys’ office Advotec in Giessen presents a collection in its beginning stages. Conceived in cooperation with the local Kunstverein, it presents exciting newcomers like Philipp Hennevogl and Dirk Krecker.
