Make Art
The KunstHalle invites all Berlin artists to take part
in a 24-hour exhibition

Prior to its actual opening, the Deutsche Bank KunstHalle already begins its program with a unique event: MACHT KUNST (MAKE ART) is the appeal directed at all artists and art lovers in Berlin and beyond.

Whether you’re a professional, student, newcomer, or autodidact—everyone has the opportunity, if selected, to exhibit a work in the space of the new Deutsche Bank KunstHalle for 24 hours on April 8. Painting, drawing, collage, or photograph—anything that can be hung on a wall is allowed. The works will be installed until the space is full.

Artworks can be delivered from April 5 to 7, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., to Charlottenstraße 37/38. The earlier the work is submitted, the greater its chance of receiving a spot on the wall. The hanging of the show will be carried out by one of the most renowned personalities in contemporary German art: the gallery dealer, art collector, and curator René Block. “Macht Kunst” will not, of course, be a conventional exhibition. Instead, for one day, the full diversity of the Berlin art scene will be on display—not only the established positions, but also undiscovered talents who have not yet had a forum with a high degree of public visibility.

“Macht Kunst” is about more than just a show. Each visitor can vote for his or her favorite work and win one of 100 annual passes to the KunstHalle. The artist with the most votes receives a one-year studio grant of 500 Euros per month. A professional jury that includes, along with René Block, also Friedhelm Hütte, Global Head Art, Deutsche Bank, will select three artists to be introduced in a two-week-long solo show each in the Studio of the KunstHalle.

And, at the opening of the KunstHalle, we will be celebrating with all of Berlin—in typical capital mode, namely into the wee hours.

Macht Kunst
April 8, 12 p.m. – April 9, 12 p.m.
Deutsche Bank KunstHalle
Berlin, Unter den Linden 13/15
